The 10th International Effects of Oil on Wildlife Conference was a highly successful event, being attended by 148 participants from 25 countries. Held in the enchanting city of Tallinn, Estonia the week of 5-9 October 2009, the scientific programme took place from 6-8 October, with optional side events being organised on Monday, 5 October and Friday, 9 October.

The Workshop “Oiled wildlife preparedness and response in Spain” has been held in A Coruña, from 21 to 22 November 2007. The workshop has been organised and carried out by a consortium composed of: University of A Coruña (Spain), Sea Alarm Foundation (Belgium), co-sponsored by Fundación Arao and Obra Social de Caixa Galicia. The other three partners are: Centre for the Prevention and Fight against Maritime and Coastal Pollution (CEPRECO) of Ministry of Presidency, DG Biodiversity of Ministry of Environment and DG Nature Conservation of Department of Environment (Xunta de Galicia).

The 4th Sea Alarm Conference has been held on October 1 - 3 2007 at the Thermae Palace Hotel in Ostend, Belgium. The conference was co-hosted by Sea Alarm Foundation, Flanders Marine Institute, Management Unit of the North Sea Mathematical Models (BMM/MUMM), Wildlife Rescue Centre Ostend (Opvangcentrum voor Vogels en Wilde Dieren Oostende) and Tourism Ostend.
